Activities

Outings

The goal of Troop 451 is to have one overnight campout per month.  These outings take the Scouts to various locations around Arizona.  There is usually one weekend per year dedicated to boating and watersports, one weekend for snow sports, and a week-long summer camp in July.

High Adventure

High Adventure trips are just as the name implies and are a rite of passage as the younger Scouts master their outdoor skills and apply them to what often becomes their trip of a lifetime.  The BSA has many high adventure camps throughout the USA.  These camps test the boys to their limits of their training, so a positive attitude and thorough preparation is essential.

Summer Camp

Troop 451 typically goes to Camp Geronimo over the week of July 4th.  This is the least crowded week of the summer and therefore offers the Scouts more opportunities to complete merit badges and experience various camp activities.

Family Camp

One Camp Geronimo requirement is for each Scout to complete a service project at summer camp.  By holding our annual Family Camp at Camp Geronimo in May, the Scouts can complete their service project requirement before they even arrive at summer camp.  This allows them time to more fully enjoy the rest of the summer camp experience.  The adults also complete a service project at Family Camp.  If you look around Camp Geronimo, you will see many permanent fixtures bearing the Troop 451 name.  The camp is largely dependent upon volunteer projects for upkeep and improvements.
